As the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) gets ready to welcome its first commercial flights on December 25, preparations are steadily moving forward. On November 29 and 30, the airport completed
its first full-scale integrated passenger trial, an important step before operations begin.
Now, a video shared online is giving people a closer look at the airport’s interiors and overall design. The clip has caught widespread attention as it shows how the new airport looks from the moment a passenger enters.
Video Shows Inside Look At New-Terminal Experience
The video opens with a digital creator walking towards the entry point of NMIA. He introduces the airport by saying, “We are at Navi Mumbai Airport, and here’s my first boarding pass. You can enter here with the help of Digi Yatra at the entrance point. Right now, I’m entering here with the help of my boarding pass.”
As he moves ahead, he shows the main hall, which has a large Lotus-themed design. Two huge digital screens on both sides display high-resolution visuals, and he explains how the theme combines lotus and water effects. He mentions that the cameras on the displays capture his image clearly, adding to the modern feel of the space.
He then walks to the check-in area. Here, he shows how passengers can drop off luggage and get their boarding passes verified. The airport also has automated check-in counters, making the process quicker. Next, he heads to the security section. He explains that travellers can enter using Digi Yatra or a boarding pass.
Just like other airports, passengers must place items like cameras, belts, and phones in trays. He adds that as a tech creator, his tray usually carries extra gadgets, including the camera he is using to record.
After clearing security, he moves toward the gates. He points out that the flight information screens are placed at eye level, making them easy to read. Many upcoming shops are still being set up, but he says the interiors already look impressive.
As he takes an escalator down, he shows the height and scale of the terminal. Near the gate area, he highlights the automated boarding system. He also notes that the airport is very clean and mentions that washroom facilities are available.

Here’s How Social Media Reacted
Shared on December 1, the video has now crossed 9 lakh views and drawn many reactions. A user wrote, “Amazing infra and design. The only thing that boils my blood is taking everything out at Security. The world has progressed way ahead, where nothing needs to come out of the bags at all – not even a single charging cable, but even the newest airport in India still lacks the same. Wish we could get it really soon!” Another viewer said, “Heading there asap.”
“Average looking dated design airport at best,” one person commented. Another user asked, “But how is the connectivity from the city centre??”
“Mumbai Chatrapati International Airport is more beautiful than this,” another added.
