Delhi Metro Timing On Diwali 2025: With Diwali just around the corner, markets are buzzing with people shopping for sweets and festive decorations. To handle the expected surge in passenger traffic, the Delhi Metro has announced additional services. On Diwali day, metro operations will begin an hour earlier than usual to ensure smoother travel for commuters during the festive rush.
According to an official statement by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), “On the eve of Diwali, Metro Train Services on the Pink, Magenta and Grey Lines, which usually begin at 07:00 AM on Sunday, will begin at 06:00 AM.”
On Monday, October 20, which is Diwali, metro services will operate on their regular schedule throughout the day. However, the last trains from
all metro stations, including those on the Airport Express Line (AEL), will depart at 10 PM.
“On account of the Diwali festival, the last Metro train service on 20th October, 2025 (Monday) will commence at 10:00 PM from terminal stations of all Lines including the Airport Express Line. Metro train services will run as usual for rest of the day on Diwali from routine commencement timings on all the Lines,” said DMRC in an official statement.
Delhi Traffic Advisory For Diwali 2025
As Diwali celebrations approach, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory to manage the heavy crowd expected in Chandni Chowk and nearby markets between October 18 and 21, 2025.
According to the advisory, traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place daily from 2 PM to 10 PM to manage congestion and ensure smooth movement around the crowded market zones.

Authorities have announced that no buses or commercial vehicles will be allowed to pass through Netaji Subhash Marg, as they will be diverted at the T-Point. Other diversions will be in effect from Chhatta Rail, Shanti Van Chowk, Delhi Gate, and GPO Chowk, which are key access points to the old city.
In addition, e-rickshaws, autos, and cycle rickshaws will not be permitted to move beyond Chhatta Rail Chowk during the restricted hours to ease pedestrian movement in the narrow lanes.
To reduce congestion, visitors have been advised to use designated parking areas only, including Parade Ground, ASI Parking, Dangal Maidan, and Omaxe Mall. Parking on roadsides has been strictly prohibited.
