Hyderabad, May 25 (PTI) Telangana Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Karnataka Minor Irrigation Minister N S Boseraju on Monday held talks on the construction of a barrage across Krishna river shared by the two neighbouring states.
Describing the meeting as cordial, Reddy said it focused on the utilisation of Krishna water by the two states.
“A presentation on Feasibility Studies on Construction Barrage Across Krishna River was held,” he said in a post on X.
He said an agreement would be reached in such a way that the interests of the two states are safeguarded, according to an official release.
He further said proposals which would permanently address the drinking water problem with inter-state coordination were placed before the Karnataka
side.
He added that the details of the parleys between the two states would be presented to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Telangana minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Vakiti Srihari and Karnataka MLA and Lok Sabha member from Raichur in Karnataka G Kumar Naik and other leaders were present on the occasion. PTI SJR SJR ROH
