Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last shah and a prominent voice in the fragmented opposition, in his latest message to Iranians, urged them to continue their fight against the current regime and acknowledged
US President Donald Trump’s “help on its way” post. He further asked the protesters to save the names of all the criminals who are attacking the demonstrators and stated that they will be prosecuted for what they have done.
Taking to X, he wrote, “My compatriots, the world has not just seen and heard your voice and courage, it is now responding. By now, you have probably heard the message from the President of the United States. Help is on the way. Continue the fight, as you have done so far. Do not allow this regime to create the illusion that life is normal.”
“After all the massacres, there is a sea of blood between us and this regime. Save the names of all these criminals. They will be prosecuted for what they have done,” he added.
Further, in a special message to the Iranian Army, Pahlavi said, “You are the national military of Iran, not the military of the Islamic Republic. You have a duty to protect the lives of your compatriots. You do not have much time. Join them as soon as possible.”
My compatriots,
The world has not just seen and heard your voice and courage, it is now responding.
By now, you have probably heard the message from the President of the United States. Help is on the way.
Continue the fight, as you have done so far.
Do not allow this regime… https://t.co/KfotmDo0br

US Envoy, Pahlavi Discuss Iran Protests
White House envoy Steve Witkoff recently met with Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last shah, to discuss the protests roiling that country, a senior US official informed.
According to a report published in Axios, citing a senior US official, the alleged meeting occurred over the weekend. This would represent the first high-level meeting between the Trump administration and the Iranian opposition since the anti-regime protests erupted 15 days ago.
Axios noted that amid the unrest, Pahlavi has been trying to paint himself as the “transitional” leader in case the regime falls. Pahlavi had also urged President Trump to intervene and praised him as a “man of peace.”
“Mr President, this is an urgent and immediate call for your attention, support, and action,” Pahlavi wrote in a post on X January 9. He accused Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei of using the blackout to carry out a brutal crackdown and encouraged Trump to “be prepared to intervene to help the people of Iran.”
‘Help On Its Way’: Trump’s Post Amid Iran Unrest
Trump on Tuesday heightened uncertainty around Washington’s next steps on Iran after saying “help is on its way” for Iranian protesters, before urging Americans to leave the country amid widening unrest.
Earlier in the day, Trump posted on Truth Social, urging Iranians to continue protesting, writing: “Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!!… HELP IS ON ITS WAY.” He also said he had cancelled all meetings with Iranian officials until what he described as the “senseless killing” of protesters stopped.
Speaking to reporters, Trump was asked to clarify what he meant by his earlier statement promising “help” to protesters in Iran. “You’re going to find out soon,” he replied, before adding, “It’s a good idea for Americans to leave Iran.”
