Border 2 continues its impressive run at the box office, proving that its appeal extends well beyond the opening frenzy. The Sunny Deol-led war drama, which also stars Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh, has managed to stay firm in its second week despite the expected weekday dip. The latest figures indicate that the film still has enough fuel to march ahead strongly.
Released theatrically on January 23, Border 2 arrived with massive expectations — and delivered. After a thunderous first week, the film is now displaying remarkable stability, a key indicator of strong word of mouth and repeat audiences.
Border 2 Box Office Update
As per the latest data from Sacnilk, Border 2 collected ₹5.75 crore on its second Tuesday (day 12) at the domestic box office. Interestingly,
the figure is identical to its previous day’s earnings, signalling that the film has refused to slow down even during regular working days. With this, the total India collection now stands at ₹286.75 crore.
The film had already crossed the coveted ₹200 crore milestone within just six days of its release, cementing its blockbuster status early in its run. Its opening weekend performance also surpassed the collections of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, giving Border 2 a clear edge among recent big-ticket releases.
Trade experts believe that while the sharp peaks of the first week may be behind it, the film’s steady hold suggests a long and profitable theatrical journey ahead, especially in mass belts and single-screen theatres.
About Border 2
Border 2 is the sequel to the iconic 1997 blockbuster Border and is backed by T-Series and J P Films. Alongside its lead cast, the film features Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Pranav Vashisht and Medha Rana in pivotal roles.
Inspired by the true events of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, the film highlights the combined strength of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, portraying them as a united force fighting for the nation. For fans, one of the biggest draws has been seeing Sunny Deol back in uniform, a role that once again struck an emotional chord with audiences.
A few days ago, Sunny Deol celebrated the film’s success on Instagram, sharing a clip where he is seen singing and dancing while cutting a cake as those around him cheerfully sang, “Happy Border to you…Happy Border to Sunny Ji.”
The actor also thanked fans through a heartfelt video message, saying, “Aawaz kahan tak gayi, aapke dilon tak. I am so grateful for the love and warmth you showered on my movie Border. Thank you so much for it all. (How far did my voice reach? Right into your hearts).”
