Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to praise his son Arjun Tendulkar after the young left-arm pacer finally made his debut for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Arjun had to wait until the team’s final league-stage match to get his opportunity, and Sachin applauded the way his son handled the long wait with patience and determination.
Posting on X after the game, the former India captain highlighted Arjun’s discipline and positive mindset throughout the campaign.

“Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite
having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match,” he posted.
Sachin also reflected on the mental challenges of the sport and encouraged his son to keep enjoying the game while staying grounded.
“Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always.”

What Did Arjun Do?
Arjun finished with figures of 1/36 from his four overs in a high-scoring contest, claiming the important wicket of Prabhsimran Singh, who struck a rapid 69 off 39 deliveries with seven boundaries and two sixes. Although the young pacer was slightly expensive, his debut performance still attracted significant attention.
The match itself saw the Punjab Kings register a convincing seven-wicket victory over Lucknow while chasing 197. Captain Shreyas Iyer starred with an unbeaten 101 off 51 balls, his maiden IPL century, while Prabhsimran provided strong support at the top of the order.
Earlier, Lucknow posted 196/6 thanks to a fine 72 from Josh Inglis and a brisk cameo from Abdul Samad. However, Punjab comfortably chased down the target with more than an over to spare, strengthening their playoff hopes.
