Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings on Wednesday (May 6) and scored 35 runs. He faced 13 balls during his stay at the crease at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and hammered 2 fours and 4 sixes. Abhishek slammed his first six of the match on the second ball of the first over bowled by Arshdeep Singh, and his second and third sixes came off Marco Jansen’s bowling in the second over (on the 2nd and 4th balls).

He smacked his fourth six on the second ball of the fourth over of the SRH innings bowled by Lockie Ferguson. But in an attempt to play an aerial shot on the third ball, he handed a routine catch to PBKS
skipper Shreyas Iyer.
However, before making his way back to the pavilion, Abhishek entered his name in the record books by becoming the sixth batter in the world to hit 300 T20 sixes in India.
Abhishek needed two sixes on Wednesday to take his tally of sixes to 300 in India, and he slammed four.
The record of hitting most T20 sixes in India is held by Rohit Sharma. In 320 T20 matches played so far in India, Rohit has slammed 388 sixes. He also tops the list of batters with most T20 sixes in one country.

Abhishek added 54 runs in just 3.3 overs with Travis Head for SRH for the first wicket on Wednesday. Head, who slammed half-centuries for the Orange Army in their last two matches against Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, scored 38 runs from 19 balls.
