Lucknow Super Giants, searching for momentum in a stuttering campaign, are poised to welcome a timely reinforcement with Australia’s explosive batter Josh Inglis expected to link up with the squad before their IPL fixture against the Mumbai Indians on May 4.
The 31-year-old had opted out of the opening half of the tournament to focus on his wedding plans. After getting married on April 18, Inglis is now set to travel to India following a short break from competitive cricket.
As reported by ESPNcricinfo, Inglis, who was bought for Rs 8.6 crore despite being unavailable for the early phase of the competition, is likely to feature in the final six games for LSG, beginning with the May 4 encounter against MI.
The Rishabh Pant-led team has slipped down
the standings, suffering three consecutive defeats to occupy the eighth position on the points table.
Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran have all been regular picks in their starting XI, while South African left-arm spinner George Linde has appeared in two of their most recent three outings.
Inglis piled up 278 runs at a strike rate of 162.57 for Punjab Kings last season but was released ahead of the 2026 auction, leaving him free for LSG to secure at the latest sale.
Lucknow’s immediate assignment is a home clash against the Rajasthan Royals on April 22.
