Chennai Super Kings faced Mumbai Indians in their seventh match of the IPL 2026 on Thursday, April 23, and secured a win by 103 runs. MI skipper Hardik Pandya invited CSK to bat first, and they rode on Sanju Samson’s century (101 runs from 54 balls) to post a total of 207 for 6 in 20 overs. In reply, MI could only manage to score 104 runs for the loss of all 10 wickets in 19 overs. For CSK, Akeal Hosein picked up 4 wickets for 17 runs in four overs, and two MI batters were sent back to the pavilion by Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad.

Punjab Kings continue to lead the IPL 2026 points table. The Punjab-based franchise has secured 5 wins in matches played so far, whereas their match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata was washed out due to rain at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in third place with 8 points from six matches, and Sunrisers Hyderabad also have secured 8 points so far. But they have played one more match than RCB.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders remain at the bottom of the points table. The three-time champions have only three points to their credit from seven matches played so far. Above them are the Lucknow Super Giants with 4 points from seven matches. MI also have the same points (4) from the same number of matches (7), but due to a better net run rate, MI are 8th, and LSG take 9th position.
