As per the information accessed by CNN-News18, the Iranian delegation is expected to arrive in phases between 1:00 am and 2:30 am, followed by another window between 4:00 am and 6:00 am on April 10-11. There are also reports that some members of the Iranian team may enter via the Taftan-Zahedan border in Balochistan before being airlifted to Islamabad.
The United States delegation is also expected to arrive in Islamabad in multiple phases as well.
Who Will Lead Delegations?
The White
House has said that US Vice President JD Vance will lead the American delegation to Islamabad “this weekend” for the talks. Along with Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Senior Advisor to the President Jared Kushner will be part of the delegation. Senior officials from the White House and the Pentagon will also be part of the negotiation team.
The Iranian side will be led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, along with other officials, will also be part of the delegation.
It’s the highest-level meeting between the US and Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution, as ceasefire negotiations hit a crucial tipping point that could lead to the resumption and escalation of the war if the high-stakes talks fail.

The meeting came after Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran, on the condition that Tehran agrees to a “complete, immediate, and safe opening” of the Strait of Hormuz. Talks are being mediated by Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also confirmed that Pakistan would host the delegations following the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
“I… extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes,” Sharif said in a post on X.
Sharif said Pakistan hoped the discussions, referred to as the “Islamabad Talks”, would help achieve lasting peace and expressed optimism about further progress in the coming days.
“We earnestly hope that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in the coming days,” he said.
