The note especially went viral due to Arijit Singh’s previous retirement announcement. However, good news for Pritam’s fans: he is not retiring anytime soon.
Pritam recently celebrated his birthday and wrote on Instagram, “Thank you for all the wishes. Can’t answer everyone individually, but please accept my sincere gratitude. Today, I have decided to gift myself a few years to live life differently. To catch up on what I’ve missed.”
Pritam added, “Time to set off on new journeys, which have been kept on the back burner
for long. Mainstream is a great ride. But I’ve always been more curious about the roads unexplored. Thank you for all the love & support. Always.”
This note left fans confused, who wondered if Pritam was retiring from Bollywood. However, a source told Hindustan Times, “Pritam is not leaving the music industry. He of course will continue to work. Through his post, he only highlighted that he has some more fields of interest that he wants to prioritise right now. It doesn’t mean that he will exit the music industry forever.”
Arijit Singh’s Playback Retirement
Earlier this year, Arijit Singh took to Instagram and wrote, “Hello, Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”
Many fans were left worried as they thought that Arijit Singh had quit music altogether. However, he clarified that he was only retiring from playback singing and would continue to produce indie music and release his new music soon.
