New Delhi, Sep 15 (PTI) Actor Rashmika Mandanna is set to essay the role of a legendary Indian classical vocalist M S Subbulakshmi in her biopic.
Subbulakshmi was known for Carnatic music, a traditional style of South Indian classical music. She was also the first musician to receive Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.
The film is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and is produced by Allu Aravind (Geetha Arts), Rockline Venkatesh (Rockline Entertainment), and Bunny Vasu (Bunny Vas Works). Composer Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film.
The official launch of the film will take place on Wednesday in Chennai on Subbulakshmi 110th birth anniversary. Actor Kamal Haasan will be the chief guest at the event.

Mandanna will next feature in “Ranabaali” alongside Vijay Deverakonda. The film is directed by Rahul Sankrityan and is described as a period action drama set against the backdrop of 19th-century British colonial rule. PTI ATR ATR ATR
