Currently in the UAE for work, the actor made her pregnancy announcement at an event by Audemars Piguet, a luxury watch brand. For the event, Sonam was styled by her sister, stylist Rhea Kapoor. Sonam channelled the late Princess Diana, who some might call the ‘original Mother’, for this event. She wore a Barbie-pink suit, designed by fashion designer Margaretha Ley in 1988 for the co-founder of the German fashion house Escada. This vintage ensemble comes with a storied past, as it is strikingly similar to the outfit worn by the late Princess in at least four public appearances between 1988 and 1990. The pure wool suit features oversized padded shoulders, large black buttons, and a black pocket square peeking out.

Sonam, who will soon be seen on the big screen in Battle for Bittora, an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s novel, styled this power look with sheer black stockings and YSL black pointed-toe kitten heels. She wore a pair of large black sunglasses.

For this look, the actor accessorised with a black clutch from Escada with gold hardware, which she then matched with some minimal gold jewellery. She wore a gold ring on each hand and thick, hooped gold earrings.

Sonam’s husband, Anand Ahuja, dropped a cute comment and wrote, “double trouble 😍😍”. “Baby ma.. also chicccccc mama!” he added in another comment. The actor’s mother, Sunita Kapoor also wrote, “Looking lovely ❤️”, while industry friend, actor and new mum Patralekha commented a heart eye emoji.

The power couple, Sonam and Anand, welcomed their first child, son Vayu, in 2022. They tied the knot in May 2018 after years of dating.

In August this year, Sonam had penned a heartfelt birthday note as Vayu turned three. “Happy Birthday my baby boy. May you always be this curious, kind, thoughtful and sweet. I hope you are always surrounded by so much love, music and happiness. Mama loves you to the moon and back and again,” she wrote.
