New Delhi, Aug 11 (PTI) The Centre will set up the Central Jungle Warfare College (CRPF) in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, which was once a hotbed of Naxal activities, to train forces for jungle combat, Parliament was informed on Tuesday.
In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said it has been decided that the Central Jungle Warfare College (CRPF) would be set up in Bijapur and the Regional Training Centre (CISF) in Bihar’s Kishanganj district.
A total number of 83 training institutions of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been established all over the country, the minister said.
“Expansion, modernisation and upgradation of training centres are being done on a requirement
basis. Further, purchase of motor vehicles, technical gadgets and creation of manpower for imparting training in CAPFs has been carried out from time to time,” he added. PTI ABS RC
