Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Monday, July 27, said its residential, commercial buildings and factories business vertical has won a "major" order from a renowned client for a large-scale housing redevelopment project in Mumbai.
L&T classifies orders in the ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore range as "major."
India's largest infrastructure conglomerate, said the scope of work includes the design and construction of 26 high-rise residential towers, each rising to 120 metres, on a turnkey basis. The project includes structural works, architectural finishes, and electromechanical services.
L&T said it will deploy its large-wall panel precast construction technology to meet the project's stringent delivery schedules. Under this approach, the buildings components will be manufactured at a precast facility and assembled at the project site, enabling enhanced quality, productivity and speed, the company stated in its exchange filing.
On Friday, L&T's hi-tech manufacturing arm L&T Heavy Engineering reported "large" order wins. The company classifies orders in the ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore range as "large".
It said it won these orders across Africa, Asia, North and South America and Europe.
Last week, L&T's metals and minerals business vertical won "mega" orders from leading domestic firms. Orders in the ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore range are classified as "mega" orders.
L&T had reported a mixed set of earnings in the fourth quarter, with its revenue growth being steady. However, its earnings had fallen short of Street estimates amid margin pressures and a high base. The company's board had also recommended a final dividend of ₹38 per share for FY26, higher than the previous year's ₹34 per share.
L&T is scheduled to report its first quarter earnings on Tuesday, July 28.
Shares of Larsen & Toubro are off the highs of the day towards the close of the trading session, currently trading 0.5% higher at ₹3,806.4. The stock is still down 8% so far this year.
