Daruwala, a veteran banker with more than 35 years of experience in corporate and retail banking, governance and strategy, previously served as CEO for India and South Asia at Standard Chartered Bank. During her tenure, she oversaw the lender’s regional transformation, restructured its retail operations to focus on wealth management and strengthened its corporate banking franchise.
At PL Capital, Daruwala will lead the group’s expansion strategy across businesses including broking and distribution, institutional equities, investment banking, corporate advisory, private credit, wealth management and asset management, the company said in a statement.

The appointment marks a new phase for PL Capital, which plans to deepen its presence across India, strengthen its technology and advisory capabilities, and broaden its client base spanning investors, institutions, and family offices.
Founded more than eight decades ago, PL Capital operates across 200 cities with 900 franchise partners, 1.6 lakh clients, and 250 corporate relationships, offering a range of financial services from broking and wealth management to investment banking and asset management.
