Today may just turn out to be a make-or-break session for the Nifty. Today is the weekly expiry of the Sensex contracts as well. After a one-day pause, the markets returned to winning ways in midweek trading, with the Nifty closing above the mark of 26,000 yet again.

The only difference is that it closed above the intraday highs of Monday and Tuesday and closer to the recent swing high of 26,104. That's the first important level to watch on the index today before the bulls set sights on the record high level of 26,277.

Supporting them are positive cues from Wall Street, as concerns over an AI bubble were put to rest for now after Nvidia's strong results and stronger commentary, which have sent futures soaring. The surge in the Nasdaq futures put IT stocks in the spotlight again after Wednesday's outperformance.

The Nifty Bank is already at record highs and is setting up for a move towards the 60,000 mark. Four stocks also see their shareholder lock-in end. Also watch for the price action in Groww after yesterday's fall.
