Zydus Wellness Q2 loss widens to ₹53 crore as margins slip

Zydus Wellness’ net loss widened to ₹52.8 crore for the July–September quarter of 2025 (Q2FY26), compared with a loss of ₹21 crore in the same period last year.

Revenue, however, rose 32% year-on-year to ₹650.5 crore from ₹493 crore, supported by strong sales across brands and newly acquired businesses.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) grew 15% to ₹23 crore from ₹20 crore, while margins eased slightly to 3.5% from 4%.

The company said second-quarter performance was supported by healthy demand across categories and contributions from recent acquisitions.

During the quarter, the company completed its first overseas acquisition — Comfort Click Limited and its subsidiaries — expanding its international presence across the UK, European Union, and the US. The move marks Zydus Wellness’ entry into the fast-growing vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS) category.

Among key brands, Sugar Free maintained its dominant 96.2% market share in the sugar substitute segment. Everyuth retained leadership in scrubs and peel-off masks, while Nycil stayed the top brand in the prickly heat powder category. Nutralite reported double-digit growth, led by consistent volumes and new launches such as Nutralite Activ Peanut Butter.

The company said its Max Protein portfolio under Naturell India continued to scale up, with new launches like Millet Wafer Protein Bars tapping into the healthy snacking trend. Meanwhile, Glucon-D held a 58.7% market share, and Complan moved up to fourth place in its category with a 4.1% share.

Zydus Wellness said it remains focused on innovation and portfolio expansion to drive growth across categories, even as near-term margins stay under pressure from higher input costs.
