IT services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Wednesday, November 5, announced that it has extended 18-year-long partnership with Bengaluru-based electrification and automation major ABB to modernise
its global hosting operations, simplify its IT landscape, and strengthen its digital foundation.
TCS will help operationalise Future Hosting Model, ABB's new setup for IT infrastructure and switch to a modular, AI-powered system that can automatically fix issues, ensure faster service restoration, and keep security tight without needing constant manual oversight.
TCS will also support ABB in advancing its Core Platform vision, which focuses on large-scale modernisation, increased self-service and automation, accelerated cloud adoption, and enhanced operational resilience.
Alec Joannou, Group CIO, ABB, said, "By modernising our hosting operations, we’re creating a foundation for agility, faster innovation, and improved reliability across the business.”
TCS said in a statement that its AI framework will ensure business continuity and excellent service delivery across ABB’s global operations by minimising human intervention.
Anupam Singhal, President, Manufacturing, TCS, said, “This latest milestone is not just a testament to our enduring collaboration, but a bold step towards reimagining ABB’s hosting landscape with a modular, future-ready architecture.
The announcement comes just a day after the IT services major announced on Tuesday (November 4) that it has extended partnership with British supermarket chain Morrisons for another five years.
This was to accelerate Morrisons' digitisation efforts and help align operations across key business functions.
