The much talked about shares of Lenskart made their stock market debut on Monday, November 10. The stock fell as much as 11% in the early minutes of trade, before recovering those losses and even briefly crossing its IPO price. The three-day issue, through which the company planned on raising over ₹7,278 crore, was subscribed 28 times, despite all the chatter around its valuation. Subscription was led by institutional investors, for whom 75% of the issue was reserved for, was subscribed 40 times the total number of shares on offer. The portion reserved for non-institutional investors was subscribed 18 times, while the portion reserved for retail investors was subscribed 7.5 times the total number of shares on offer. Only 10% of the IPO was reserved for retail investors. Ahead of listing, co-founder Peyush Bansal wrote a letter saying it is still Day Zero for the company, reflecting on the 15-year journey and also sharing his vision for the future. However, ahead of the listing, the GMP or Grey Market Premium for Lenskart has declined to nearly zero.
