IT services major Wipro Ltd on Monday (July 27) announced an expanded partnership with Databricks to help enterprises modernise their data foundations and accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) adoption.
As part of the partnership, Wipro has established a dedicated Databricks business practice focused on building industry-specific AI-led solutions and accelerators aimed at delivering business value through tailored offerings.
The enhanced partnership will help clients move from fragmented data foundations and isolated AI pilots to governed, enterprise-scale AI implementations. This will enable Wipro and Databricks to optimise existing data investments for shared clients while building new AI-led solutions tailored to industry needs.

The collaboration will combine Databricks' capabilities in agentic AI, data modernisation, application development and analytics with Wipro Intelligence™, the company's suite of AI-powered platforms, solutions and offerings.
According to Wipro, the new business practice will also enable business users to derive value faster by using Databricks Genie, an AI coworker that allows business users and technical professionals to explore and interact with enterprise data using natural language.
The company added that the practice will leverage WEGA, Wipro's agent-native delivery platform, to help enterprises transition from legacy systems to scalable, AI-ready data architectures.

Across industries, Wipro's dedicated Databricks business practice will build context-aware, AI-led solutions to address core business challenges. In the banking and financial services sector, the practice will focus on end-to-end wealth management, portfolio performance optimisation and enhancing client experience.
For manufacturing and consumer goods companies, Wipro said the practice will develop solutions to improve planning resilience amid volatility in the global macroeconomic environment. In the telecommunications sector, it will drive sales and marketing transformation through agentic artificial intelligence (AI).
The practice will also develop solutions to improve asset visibility and performance for energy and other large-asset industries. In addition, Wipro said it will offer agentic AI-led Chief Financial Officer (CFO) transformation by reimagining Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) processes to support cost optimisation and improve efficiency.
Through the newly established practice, Wipro and Databricks will enable joint clients to become intelligent enterprises that are secure by design, resilient by default, and prepared for the next wave of reinvention.
