Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and BAE Systems have secured a licensed manufacturing contract from the Indian Army for the BvS10 Sindhu, an upgraded variant of the articulated all-terrain BvS10 platform.
L&T will
produce the vehicles at its Armoured Systems Complex in Hazira, supported by design and technical expertise from BAE Systems Hagglunds, the original manufacturer. The agreement also includes an integrated logistics package covering deployment, maintenance and life-cycle sustainment.
The BvS10 Sindhu has been adapted for India’s diverse terrain, from high-altitude regions to deserts, marshlands and amphibious conditions. It completed demanding trials demonstrating performance across both sea-level and high-altitude environments.
BAE Systems said the vehicle’s mobility and flexibility in extreme climates were key attributes noted by the Army.

L&T said the programme reinforces India’s push for indigenous defence manufacturing, combining its engineering capabilities with BAE Systems’ established platform and global defence experience. The partnership also marks the first expansion of the BvS10 into Asia.
As of 03:14 PM, shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd were trading at ₹4,020.80 on the NSE, up 0.53 percent.
