Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets have managed to make some recovery as the bulls enter the second half of this choppy expiry session. The Nifty has recovered from lows and is now up and above the 24,100 mark. The Nifty is hoping to protect the 24,000 mark, as it remains a critical mark. The Sensex is also in a similar territory, now above the 77,100 mark with gains of 200 points.

Today is the weekly options expiry of the Nifty 50 contracts and also the start of a new month. September has not had any decisive trend for the index as the last 10 years have seen an equal split between positive and negative returns.

The Nifty Bank, on the other hand, is under pressure, falling a major 400 points. It still has managed to make a recovery of over 100 points.

In case the index does sustain above 58,000, it will be viewed positively. Keep an eye on Auto stocks ahead of the sales numbers, EPL for its block deal, and Happiest Minds for the acquisition announced. Sun Pharma will also be watch out for.
