RailTel secures ₹33 crore order from North Central Railway for track circuit reliability work

Telecom infrastructure firm RailTel Corporation of India Ltd on Thursday (July 23) said it has secured a ₹32.74 crore order from North Central Railway for railway signalling work.

The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from North Central Railway for the reliability improvement of track circuits by providing Multi Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC) in parallel with existing Digital Track Circuit Controllers (DCTC) and other associated works.

The order covers 14 stations in the ALJN-DER section of the Prayagraj Division. The estimated size of the order is ₹32.74 crore, including taxes. The project is classified as a domestic order and relates to railway signalling. RailTel said the order is required to be executed by January 23, 2028. The company received the work order on July 23, 2026, at 1:30 PM.

RailTel also said the order has been awarded by North Central Railway and there is no interest of the promoter, promoter group or group companies in the entity awarding the contract. The order does not fall under related party transactions, according to the company.

In July this year, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd disclosed a new litigation matter involving 3i Infotech Limited, which has initiated arbitration proceedings against the company related to the Wi-Fi Monetisation Project.

The matter has been filed before an Arbitration Tribunal, with 3i Infotech as the claimant and RailTel as the respondent. The claim amount filed by 3i Infotech stands at ₹60.26 crore, while RailTel’s counterclaim amount is ₹91.34 crore.

RailTel said the Wi-Fi Monetisation Project was awarded to 3i Infotech following an open and competitive bidding process.

The dispute relates to the termination of the contract. RailTel said it had terminated the contract lawfully and strictly in accordance with the terms and conditions of the tender, while 3i Infotech invoked arbitration following the termination notice issued by RailTel.

The company said the financial implications, including any compensation or penalty, will depend on the final adjudication of the disputes and claims. The dispute was reported on July 17, 2026, at 12:22 PM.

Shares of Railtel Corporation of India Ltd ended at ₹289.50, down by ₹0.50, or 289.50%, on the BSE.
