IT stocks have dragged the Nifty 50 down after five straight days of gains. The sell-off in India is starkly in contrast to the rest of Asia where markets hit a new record high in trade today.

The top five losers in trade today were all the IT majors i.e. TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, and HCLTech, ahead of the Sensex's weekly expiry

Eternal, Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto were among the top gainers.

LG Electronics India shares recovered nearly half of the early losses as the management projected a stronger fourth quarter, in a conversation with CNBC-TV18.

Vodafone Idea erased the gains from yesterday after the downgrade from JPMorgan.

Not just the benchmarks, the broader markets were also largely flat, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 indices posting marginal gains of 0.03% and 0.02%, respectively.

Some names that will be in focus include IRCON, Godrej Ind, LG Electronics, Patanjali Foods, Bayer Corp Lenskart, Yatra and more

Some of the companies reporting their results today include Astra Micro, Abbott India, Bharat Forge, Biocon, Coal India, Cohance Life, HAL, Hindalco, Indian Hotel, HUL, Lupin, Muthoot Fin, ONGC among others.
