The order covers the integration of software defined radio (SDR) on MiG-29 aircraft, installation of network centric application (NCO) on MiG-29s, and procurement of 24 SDRs for the light combat aircraft (LCA) Mk-1A. The contract, awarded by the domestic defence entity, is slated for execution within 12 months.
Astra Microwave Products clarified that the order is not a related party transaction, and neither promoters nor promoter groups have any interest in the IAF. The company will receive a portion of the business through its joint venture.
This contract marks a significant boost for Astra Rafael Comsys, reflecting growing domestic defence collaborations in software-defined and network-centric applications for Indian military aircraft. The move is expected to strengthen the company’s portfolio in aerospace and defence electronics, particularly in avionics integration and mission-critical communication systems.
