Astra Rafael Comsys Private Limited, the joint venture between Astra Microwave Productsand Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd, Israel, has secured an order worth ₹275.27 crore (including taxes) from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for integration and installation of software in aircraft.
The order covers the integration of software defined radio (SDR) on MiG-29 aircraft, installation of network centric application (NCO) on MiG-29s, and procurement of 24 SDRs for the light combat aircraft (LCA) Mk-1A. The contract, awarded by the domestic defence entity, is slated for execution within 12 months.
Astra Microwave Products clarified that the order is not a related party transaction, and neither promoters nor promoter groups have any interest in the IAF. The company will receive a portion of the business through its joint venture.
