Dilip Buildcon Q1 profit halves as revenue falls 9%; order book stands at ₹27,691 crore

Bhopal-based Dilip Buildcon reported a 50.67% year-on-year decline in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) attributable to owners of the company to ₹112.95 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹228.97 crore in the year-ago period. Consolidated revenue from operations fell 9.26% year on year to ₹2,377.78 crore from ₹2,620.34 crore in the first quarter of FY26.

The infrastructure company’s consolidated operating margin stood at 18.05% in Q1 FY27, compared with 19.86% in the corresponding quarter last year. According to the company, consolidated EBITDA stood at ₹429 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 18.1% for the quarter.

Total expenses, meanwhile, fell 15.23% to ₹2,267.80 crore from ₹2,675.36 crore in Q1 FY26.

Sequential performance

On a sequential basis, consolidated revenue from operations increased 3.39% from ₹2,299.81 crore in Q4 FY26 to ₹2,377.78 crore in Q1 FY27. Total expenses rose 2.56% to ₹2,267.80 crore from ₹2,211.26 crore in the preceding quarter.

PAT attributable to owners of the company, however, surged 82.03% sequentially from ₹62.05 crore in Q4 FY26 to ₹112.95 crore in Q1 FY27. Profit for the period rose from ₹123.83 crore to ₹127.89 crore during the same period.

The operating margin also improved sequentially to 18.05% from 17.06%, while the company's consolidated EBITDA margin rose to 18.1% from 17.1% in Q4 FY26.

EPC, mining and InvIT contribute to Q1 revenue

Dilip Buildcon's engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business remained the largest contributor to its revenue, with gross revenue from the segment at ₹1,752 crore in Q1 FY27. Mining operations contributed ₹392 crore, while income from infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) stood at ₹34.77 crore.

The company said mining activity included its Siarmal and Pachhwara coal mine mine developer and operator projects and the Pottangi bauxite mine developer and operator project. It also said income from its InvIT platform continued to support its long-duration contracted cash flows.

Order book at ₹27,691 crore

Beyond the quarterly numbers, the company said its consolidated order book stood at ₹27,691 crore as of June 30, 2026. It recorded fresh order inflow of ₹517.2 crore during the quarter, including a ₹268 crore EPC win. The order book excludes a ₹2,524.32 crore irrigation project won in Chhattisgarh in July 2026.

The order book comprised roads and highways at 17.1%, irrigation and water at 18.1%, mining at 20.9% and other verticals at 43.9% as of June 30.

Dilip Buildcon Chairman and Managing Director Dilip Suryavanshi said the quarter continued to reflect the company's "DBL 2.0" strategy, which brings together its platform, three engines and 12 verticals. He highlighted the company's execution track record, saying it had completed close to 90% of its projects ahead of schedule over more than 35 years.

He also pointed to the company's presence in long-duration businesses, including mining mine developer and operator contracts running for 25 to 55 years, as the company focuses on increasing the contribution of contracted revenue streams.

The board also approved the proposed sale of stakes in under-construction power transmission and solar projects to Alpha Alternatives, with a combined project cost of approximately ₹8,400 crore. The company said definitive agreements for the transaction are yet to be signed and the deal remains subject to requisite approvals.

Shares of the infrastructure firm ended 2.66% lower at ₹437 on the NSE today.
