Bajaj Auto Ltd. reported sales figures for the month of May on Monday, June 1, which saw growth when compared to the same month last year. However, the figure was marginally below the CNBC-TV18 poll expectations.
Overall sales for the month of May stood at 4.61 lakh units, compared to 3.84 lakh units in May 2025. However, a CNBC-TV18 poll had expected 24% sales growth to 4.78 lakh units
Majority of Bajaj Auto's growth came from the exports market. Overall exports in May rose 34% year-on-year to 2.13 lakh units. Within this, two-wheeler exports grew by 30% year-on-year to 1.83 lakh units, while commercial vehicle exports were up 65% from the year-ago period to 29,550 units.
Domestic sales were in the high-single to low-double-digits during the quarter. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 9% year-on-year to 2.09 lakh units, while domestic CV sales were at 38,503 units, a growth of 12% from May 2025.
Overall domestic sales were up 10% from last year to 2.48 lakh units.
Bajaj Auto has also been in the news after announcing a buyback of equity shares, which it will be carrying out at a price of ₹12,000.
Shares of Bajaj Auto had ended Friday's trading session with losses of over 3% at ₹10,479. The stock is up 10% so far this year.
