Vishal Kapoor, CEO, Bandhan AMC, said that gold and silver can play a role in portfolio diversification, but physical metal involves issues around purity, making charges, storage and resale, while ETFs require demat accounts. He said the Fund of Fund structure removes demat requirements, lowers the entry point to ₹1,000, and allows SIPs starting at ₹100.
Kapoor added that the Bandhan Gold ETF FoF and Bandhan Silver ETF FoF combine the structure of ETFs with mutual fund investing, allowing investors to participate in gold and silver through a liquid and transparent format.
The two schemes are suitable for investors seeking to enhance portfolio resilience, diversify across assets, and participate in the global demand for precious metals through a mutual fund route.
