Andhra Pradesh made a strong impression at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, highlighting its vast investment potential across multiple sectors. During the four-day summit, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held over 36 meetings, including high-level engagements with representatives from Israel, the UAE and Switzerland, as well as global industry leaders such as ArcelorMittal Chairman Lakshmi Mittal, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian and IBM CEO Arvind Krishna.
Upon his arrival in Zurich, the Chief Minister met Indian Ambassador to Switzerland Mridul Kumar, along with Ministers Nara Lokesh and T.G. Venkatesh, to explore opportunities for Swiss investments in Andhra Pradesh across various sectors.
Building on the momentum generated at the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh delegation positioned the state as an investor-friendly destination, emphasising not just ease of doing business but the speed of doing business too. Highlighting 25 newly introduced industrial policies, Naidu said that the state aims to attract investments worth ₹22 lakh crore and generate employment for 20 lakh youth. He noted that in the past 18 months, Andhra Pradesh has secured 25% of the country’s total investments.
Major investment announcements included Google’s largest investment outside the US for an AI data centre in Visakhapatnam, a ₹1 lakh crore steel plant by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel, and a $10 billion Green Ammonia project by AM Green at Kakinada. Earlier in 2025, Naidu had laid the foundation for the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel plant in Anakapalli district, with the first phase involving an investment of ₹60,000 crore.
Focusing on emerging sectors such as digital media, virtual production, gaming, animation and film technology, Naidu discussed opportunities in AI Creative Tech Hubs, Generative AI, Deep Tech and the digital content economy with Kishore Lulla, Founder Chairman of Eros Group. Impressed by his vision, Lulla referred to Naidu as the “Davos Man Chandrababu.”
In a meeting with Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, the Chief Minister revealed that the investment pledges worth ₹2.5 lakh crore signed at WEF 2025 have already been grounded. He also urged the Tata Group to expedite tourism and sports projects in the state, to which Chandrasekaran assured full support.
Discussions with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi focused on establishing a Dubai Food Cluster in Andhra Pradesh, along with collaboration in agritech, food tech, aqua tech, and food parks.
At the summit, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s progress in green energy, artificial intelligence, agriculture, technology, and tourism. In meetings with IBM Chairman Arvind Krishna and WIPO Director General Daren Tang, discussions focused on AI, quantum computing, cybersecurity training, innovation, startups and strengthening the patent ecosystem. Calibo AI Academy Founder Raj Vattikuti and CEO Scott Sandschafer met with Naidu to discuss AI training for youth in collaboration with universities in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister also invited them to establish a Centre of Excellence at the IT SEZ in Madhuravada, Visakhapatnam.
Minister for IT, HRD and RTG, Nara Lokesh, held high-level meetings with global technology and institutional leaders, inviting Accenture to establish a Global Delivery Centre in Visakhapatnam focused on AI, cloud, and digital services. He also discussed building future-ready digital talent through skilling partnerships and collaborating via the Future Right Skills Network, along with building partnerships in Amaravati Quantum Valley for quantum applications, startup support, and ecosystem development.
Discussions with Tech Mahindra CEO Mohit Joshi and Blackstone Chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman focused on potential investments in IT campuses, skilling hubs, mixed-use real estate, logistics parks, and hyperscale data centres.
Tamara Hospitality Founder and Executive Chairperson Shruti Shibulal expressed interest in developing eco-tourism parks in tribal areas and homestays in Visakhapatnam and other locations. The state has already granted industry status to tourism to boost the sector.
At a WEF session on “One Family, One Entrepreneur,” Naidu outlined the state’s initiative focusing on inclusive development. As part of this initiative, the state government has been providing guidance through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub for startup companies.
