Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) announced on Monday, October 27, that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major infrastructure project awarded by the North Eastern Railway, under its normal course of business operations.
The project involves the construction of the substructure of Important Bridge No. 50, comprising 14 spans of 61.0 metres each, with a Double D-type well foundation designed for a double line with RDSO 25T axle loading standard.

Gandak, located between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar stations, as part of the doubling work between Gorakhpur Cantt and Valmikinagar section of the North Eastern Railway.
The total project value stands at ₹165.54 crore (including GST).
The contract has been awarded by North Eastern Railway, and the execution of the project will further strengthen RVNL’s position as one of India’s leading infrastructure development companies in the railway sector.
Earlier, on October 17, RVNL had also emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) in a reverse auction from South Central Railway for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning for OHE upgradation of the existing 1x25kV system to a 2x25kV AT feeding system, including feeder and earthing works in the Ramgundam (RDM) – Kazipet (KZJ) section of the Secunderabad Division.
The total project cost is ₹144.44 crore (including taxes), and the execution period is 18 months, further cementing RVNL’s position as a key player in India’s railway infrastructure development.
Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited ended higher on October 27 by 0.09% at ₹329.75 on the NSE.
