Coforge Ltd. is in talks to acquire Encora in a deal that could be valued at around $2 billion, sources familiar with the matter told CNBC-TV18. The development comes ahead of Coforge’s board meeting later today to consider a fundraising proposal, after which the company will hold an analyst call this evening. Encora is currently owned by private equity firm Advent International, which acquired the company in 2021 after buying out Warburg Pincus at a valuation of about $1.5 billion.

BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani confirmed the action to CNBC-TV18, saying, “BMC has issued a show-cause notice to the Metro 2B line construction site at BKC and a stop-work notice to the bullet train construction site at BKC.”

Indian-origin US official Ricky Gill has received the National Security Council’s Distinguished Action Award for his role in ceasefire negotiations between India and Pakistan this year. The award was presented by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to a confirmed official citation.
