Britannia Q3 Results: Tops estimates across the board; profit up 17% as margin improves

Britannia Industries Ltd delivered a steady performance in Q3 FY26 on February 10, with revenue growth supported by improved profitability and margin expansion amid a relatively stable commodity environment.

The fast-moving consumer goods major reported a net profit of ₹682.1 crore for the December quarter, up 17% year-on-year from ₹582.3 crore and broadly in line with Street expectations. Revenue from operations rose 8.2% to ₹4,969.8 crore, compared with ₹4,592.6 crore in the same quarter last year.

Operating performance remained firm during the quarter. EBITDA increased 16% year-on-year to ₹980.3 crore from ₹845 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded to 19.7% from 18.4% a year ago, reflecting operating leverage and cost discipline.

On a consolidated basis, Britannia’s sales for the quarter stood at ₹4,885 crore, registering a 9.5% year-on-year increase, while consolidated net profit grew 17.1% to ₹682 crore.

Commenting on the performance, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Rakshit Hargave said the faster growth in profits compared with revenue reflected a return to healthier growth trends, driven by strong momentum across both the biscuits business and adjacent categories. He added that the biscuit industry continues to stabilise on price points following the GST rate reduction, but the company recorded growth of around 12% during November and December.

Hargave said growth was supported by sustained investments in media to strengthen brand visibility and portfolio expansion through new launches, including the 50-50 Dipped range, ‘Veg’ cake variants and ‘Doodh’ Marie Gold.

Looking ahead, he said the company remains focused on building the Britannia brand through higher brand investments and localised product innovations tailored to diverse consumer preferences across markets.
