Shares of Eicher Motors fell on Monday, June 1, after its motorcycle subsidiary Royal Enfield reported total motorcycle sales of 103,231 units in May 2026, up 15.4% from 89,429 units in the corresponding month last year and slightly ahead of the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of 100,000 units.
Domestic sales rose 24.1% year-on-year to 94,115 units from 75,820 units a year ago, helping offset weakness in overseas markets. Exports declined 33% to 9,116 units from 13,609 units in May 2025.
Growth was led by motorcycles with engine capacities of up to 350cc, where sales rose 18.7% to 90,784 units from 76,492 units a year ago. Sales of models above 350cc declined 3.8% to 12,447 units from 12,937 units.

For the first two months of FY27, Royal Enfield's total sales rose 23% to 216,395 units from 175,988 units a year ago. Domestic sales increased 31% to 198,244 units, while exports declined 25% to 18,151 units.
Commenting on the performance, B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield, said the company had maintained growth momentum in the first quarter despite prevailing macroeconomic headwinds.
During the month, Royal Enfield launched the Bullet 650 and announced plans to establish a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh with a planned investment of about ₹2,500 crore to support future growth.
Separately, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), Eicher Motors' truck and bus joint venture with Volvo Group, reported a 7.8% increase in total sales to 7,978 units in May from 7,401 units a year ago.
Eicher Trucks and Buses sales rose 7.3% to 7,789 units. Domestic sales increased 9.1% to 7,375 units, while exports declined 17.2% to 414 units. Volvo Trucks and Buses sales rose 32.2% year-on-year to 189 units.
Shares of Eicher Motors ended 1% down on Monday at ₹7,099. The stock has fallen more than 3% in the last month, while it gained 32% over the last year.
