AB Capital board to meet on May 20 to consider fund raise proposal via issue of shares, QIP, preferential issue

Aditya Birla Capital Ltd.on Saturday, May 16, said its board of directors will consider a fund raise proposal on May 20, 2026.

The company, in an exchange filing, said its board of directors is scheduled to meet on May 20 to consider the proposal of rasing funds via issuing equity shares or other securities of the firm through qualified institutional placement (QIP), preferential allotment or any other methods or combination.

On Friday, CNBC-TV18 had reported, citing sources, that AB Capital was likely to announce a ₹4,000 crore to ₹5,000 crore fund raise soon via a mix of preferential issue and QIP.

AB Capital had not commented on CNBC-TV18's query regarding the same.

At the end of the March quarter, promoters Grasim and Birla Group Holdings held 52.3% and 8.5% stake in AB Capital, respectively.

Shares of AB Capital ended the previous trading session 2% up at ₹356.75 apiece. The stock has risen 5.6% in the past month.
