SJS Enterprises Ltd on Tuesday, December 23, announced the signing of a technology licence-cum-supply agreement (TLA) with Hong Kong-based BOE Varitronix Ltd (BOEVX) to undertake optical bonding and assembly of automotive display systems in India.
Under the agreement, SJS will assemble and optically bond automotive displays for four-wheelers and supply them to customers in the domestic market.
BOEVX will provide key components and support the localisation of critical elements such as optical bonding
processes, cover glass, and backlight units.
The company said the partnership is aligned with SJS Enterprises’ strategic expansion plans announced in September and is aimed at strengthening the company’s automotive capabilities amid rising demand for advanced in-vehicle display systems in India.
According to the exchange filing, as part of the agreement, BOEVX will transfer licensed technology, know-how, and technical expertise to SJS, including training and support across manufacturing, assembly, testing, quality control, and supply of automotive display systems for passenger vehicles.
The company said the collaboration would help accelerate localisation of high-value display components while positioning SJS as an end-to-end decorative aesthetics and display solutions provider in the automotive segment.
Commenting on the development, Sanjay Thapar, Group CEO and Executive Director of SJS Enterprises, said the partnership marked a key step in the company’s diversification into the automotive display segment.
James Park, Chief Strategy Officer of BOE Varitronix, said the collaboration reflected the company’s commitment to advancing automotive display technologies in India. “By combining BOEVX’s global expertise with SJS’ strong manufacturing capabilities, we aim to deliver localised automotive display solutions and create long-term value for customers and stakeholders,” he said.
Shares of SJS Enterprises Ltd ended higher on Tuesday, December 23, by 3.39% at ₹1,781.50 on the NSE.
