Patel Engineering has received two Letters of Intent for excavation, overburden removal, coal cutting and related works at the Jhiria West OCP in the Hasdeo area of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, for South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL).
The combined project value stands at ₹798.19 crore, excluding taxes.
The scope covers composite overburden removal including rehandling, coal cutting using surface miners, loading and transportation of coal, along with deployment and maintenance of all required machinery, diesel supply, manpower and labour for seamless execution.
Patel Engineering said its experience in large-scale infrastructure projects positions the company well to deliver the contract efficiently.
"These new projects are a natural extension of the large infrastructure works we undertake and also open fresh avenues for growth. They come on top of a strong tender pipeline of over ₹34,000 crore already bid and under evaluation, and another ₹18,000 crore of opportunities expected before the end of this financial year. Over the next one to two years, nearly ₹1 lakh crore worth of projects are likely to come up for bidding in our core segments. With these opportunities, we are confident of a substantial expansion in our order book," said Managing Director Kavita Shirvaikar.
