Aether Industries Q1 Results: Profit jumps 33%, teams up with Dow for silicone technology

Ltd. were trading higher on Friday, August 1, after the specialty chemicals company reported a strong set of June quarter earnings and announced a strategic research collaboration with Dow Chemical International.

For the quarter ended June, Aether Industries reported a 33.4% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹63 crore, compared with ₹47 crore in the same period last year.



Revenue from operations rose 27.2% to ₹326.5 crore, while EBITDA increased 26% to ₹102.5 crore. EBITDA margin came in at 31.4%, marginally lower than 31.7% a year ago.

Separately, the company announced a collaborative research programme with Dow Chemical International to develop new manufacturing technologies for silicones, a category of high-performance materials used across industries such as construction, mobility, transportation, electronics, healthcare and personal care.

Under the partnership, all research and pilot-scale development activities will be carried out at Aether Industries' R&D and pilot facilities in Surat, Gujarat. The collaboration aims to strengthen indigenous technology development and expand manufacturing capabilities for silicone materials in India.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Aman Desai, Co-Founder and Director (Research and Operations) at Aether Industries, said Dow had selected Aether as its exclusive research partner for the programme. He added that the collaboration combines Aether's expertise in chemistry and process technology with Dow's leadership in silicone applications, and is expected to create innovative manufacturing technologies while supporting the long-term growth of India's silicone materials market.
