Graphite India Ltd (GIL) on Tuesday said it has signed an exclusive distribution and commercial partnership agreement with Spain-based specialty chemicals firm Kivoro. The deal makes GIL the sole distributor
of Kivoro’s graphene-based Heat Transfer Additive (HTA) in India, aimed at corrugated paperboard manufacturers.
The companies said the collaboration will leverage Graphite India’s industry presence and customer network to accelerate adoption of advanced thermal additives across corrugated production lines nationwide.
Kivoro’s proprietary HTA is designed to improve heat-transfer efficiency in corrugator plants, enabling higher machine speeds, lower steam consumption, improved board quality and cost savings.
Jesus de la Fuente, CEO of Kivoro, described the partnership as an important milestone in their effort to scale graphene-enabled industrial solutions globally. “India is one of the world’s most dynamic corrugated markets, and GIL’s industrial legacy and technical expertise make them the ideal partner for producers pursuing energy efficiency, productivity and sustainability,” he said.
Siddhant Bangur, Business Development Executive at Graphite India, said the agreement aligns with GIL’s strategy to introduce high-impact industrial innovations. “Kivoro’s graphene-based Heat Transfer Additive is exactly the kind of breakthrough the Indian industry is seeking, and we look forward to bringing this world-class technology to partners across the corrugated value chain,” he said.
According to the companies, the use of HTA in corrugator plants can lead to higher throughput, shorter start-up times, fewer defects and more consistent board quality.
Graphite India, headquartered in Kolkata, is a leading domestic provider of graphite-based industrial solutions serving customers in the steel, energy, chemical and emerging technology sectors.
Shares of the company closed at ₹540 apiece on the NSE, up 2.63% from the day’s opening. Last month, GIL reported a weak quarter with consolidated net profit down 60.5% year-on-year to ₹77 crore for Q2FY26, compared with ₹195 crore a year earlier.
