Country’s largest asset manager SBI Mutual Fund
has hired Manish Mehta as its Chief Business Officer, three different sources with direct knowledge of the matter say.
Mehta joins SBI Mutual Fund, after spending 15 years at Kotak Mahindra AMC between 2010 to 2025. In his last stint at Kotak, Mehta was Joint President & National Head Sales, Marketing & Digital Business.

Mehta would likely be replacing DP Singh, the Deputy Managing Director of the fund house. While Singh is designated as DMD, in effect, he takes care of the sales at the fund house.
On the other hand, Singh is slated to superannuate on August end, sources told CNBC-TV18.
DP Singh has been key person to drive SBI MF’s march to the top. Singh galvalnised the SBI’s branch network to sell more products of the fund house.
Mehta — on the the other hand — has been key in building Kotak Mahindra AMC.
SBI Mutual Fund is the country’s largest asset manager with the assets under management of ₹12.57 lakh crore, followed by ICICI Prudential with AUM of ₹11.15 lakh crore. In terms of market capitalisation SBI MF is valued at ₹1.19 lakh crore at bourses, after getting listed on Tuesday last week.
The fund house delivered a softer-than-expected stock market debut on last Tuesday, July 21, with the stock listing at a premium of merely 7% despite strong demand for the company's ₹9,812.91 crore initial public offering (IPO). Shares of the fund house listed at ₹613.30 on the NSE, a premium of ₹39.30, or 6.85%, over the issue price of ₹574 per share. On the BSE, the stock debuted at ₹610, up ₹36, or 6.27%.
The shares are currently trading at ₹585.25 a piece.
