Chalet Hotels appoints Shwetank Singh as MD & CEO; to acquire Udaipur resort for ₹171 cr

Chalet Hotels Ltd on Thursday announced significant leadership changes alongside plans to expand its hospitality portfolio. The Board has approved the appointment of Shwetank Singh—currently Executive Director—as the company’s next Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 February 2026 for a three-year term.

Singh, an IIT graduate with an MBA from FMS, brings 26 years of experience across hospitality and strategic roles, including his tenure as Head of Business at Golden Sands LLC in Dubai before joining Chalet in August 2023 as Chief Growth and Strategy Officer.

The Board also cleared a proposal to acquire a company that owns a 150-room resort property in Udaipur, Rajasthan, for ₹171 crore, subject to due diligence and necessary approvals. Chalet said further details will be shared once definitive agreements are finalised.

Additionally, the company announced the appointment of Dr Sanjay Sethi—its outgoing MD & CEO—as a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director. Dr Sethi, who has nearly 37 years of hospitality experience and previously founded Berggruen Hotels,

will conclude his current term in January 2026.
