Avantel shares rise over 7% on ₹122.6 crore order win from NewSpace India

Ltd. shares rallied as much as 7.53% to hit an intraday high of ₹161.9 apiece on the BSE on Wednesday, after the company announced securing an order worth ₹122.58 crore.

The defence communications equipment company informed the stock exchanges in a filing that it has received a purchase order worth ₹122.58 crore from the Bengaluru-based public sector undertaking (PSU) NewSpace India Ltd.

According to the details of the "Supply, Installation and Commissioning" order, Avantel Ltd will be supplying the radio frequency bands, "S/X-band" with Ka-band ready full motion antennas to NewSpace India.

According to the project details, the security deposit is made up of 2.5%, and the Performance Bank Guarantee comprises 0.5%. The domestic order is expected to be executed by August 2027, and the size of the order is estimated at ₹122.58 crore, excluding taxes, the company informed the stock exchanges.

Avantel specialises in designing, developing and manufacturing communication and radar systems, particularly for the aerospace and defence sectors. Its clients include a mix of private organisations and government agencies such as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Railways, among others.

For the third quarter of the current financial year ended December 31, 2025, the company’s consolidated revenue from operations fell 26.83% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹51.71 crore from ₹70.68 crore in the same period last year. Its net profit for the year dropped significantly by 86.3% YoY to ₹2.74 crore during the period as opposed to ₹20.08 crore witnessed in the year-ago quarter.

Shares of Avantel traded 4.66% higher at ₹157.35 apiece on the BSE in the afternoon session at around 1:35 pm.
