What is the story about?
Delhi-based stainless-steel wire maker Bansal Wire Industries expects business momentum to improve in the second half of the financial year 2026-27 (FY27), with the company targeting 20% year-on-year volume growth despite a weak start to the financial year. Management also expects profitability to remain stable as operational efficiencies continue to improve.
Pranav Bansal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bansal Wire Industries, said the company has recovered from the slowdown seen in the first quarter and expects the momentum to continue through the remaining two quarters. He added that improvements in return on capital and working capital efficiency should further strengthen the business.
The company reported a 24% year-on-year increase in revenue for the July-September 2026 quarter, while net profit rose 35%. Margins also expanded compared to the year-ago period.
On volumes, Bansal said the company is aiming to offset part of the weakness seen in the first quarter, although recovering the entire shortfall may not be possible.
Bansal also highlighted the company's focus on improving capital efficiency since its listing. He said Bansal Wire has shifted its emphasis from return on equity to return on capital (ROC), with a long-term target of achieving 25% ROC.
According to him, the sharp improvement in working capital—from around 80 days to 49 days—is the result of structural changes implemented over the past two years rather than a one-off benefit.
"This is not only going to sustain. In fact, you will see further improvement here to get to our 25% ROC level," he said, adding that the company delivered nearly 22% ROC during the latest quarter.
Addressing input costs, Bansal said gas availability remained stable during the second quarter and is not expected to affect operations in the near term.

At least for H2, we will try to be at least 20% year-on-year growth. Whatever we were lagging in the first quarter, I think that we cannot bring back in the next six months, but at least for the rest of the six months, it should be 20%.
