The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended lower on Friday, September 11, but recovered sharply from the day’s lows as financial stocks led the rebound. The Nifty Bank recovered over 900 points from its low. The rupee also fell 5 paise to close at 95.57 against the US dollar. In fund flows, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers of ₹930.90 crore in equities, according to provisional data, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were net buyers at ₹1,968.17 crore.
