Jointly organised by the Mining, Geological & Metallurgical Institute of India (MGMI) and TAFCON – a pioneer in organising B2B International Exhibitions. This biennial confluence has become synonymous with scale, innovation and collaboration. Over the years, AMC+IME+ISME has evolved into a Mega Trade Fair that facilitates global dialogues on how the mining ecosystem can power sustainable, inclusive growth in a resource-hungry world.
India’s Mining Momentum
India is better positioned to lead the next phase of the global mining revolution, standing at a pivotal juncture. Valued for both its economic and strategic importance, the sector contributes roughly 2% to the nation’s GDP and underpins the country’s industrial and infrastructure growth. The government has streamlined licensing norms, opened the field to 100% FDI in mining and exploration, and strengthened auction mechanisms to ensure equitable resource allocation. Together, these measures are driving a new wave of domestic and foreign investment, reinforcing India’s ambition to become a self-reliant and globally competitive mining powerhouse.
Further, the nation is already the world’s second-largest producer of crude steel, clocking 143.6 million tonnes in FY2024, with demand projected to grow 8–9% annually in 2025. India’s aluminium, copper and zinc production are also expanding rapidly, supported by rising demand from infrastructure, mobility and renewable energy projects.
At the same time, India’s discovery of 5.9 million tonnes of lithium in Jammu & Kashmir has opened a new chapter in the country’s critical-minerals journey — one that promises to reduce import dependence and support the electric vehicle and battery industries. The government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Mission Purvodaya’ initiatives, along with the Critical Minerals Strategy 2023, are further accelerating investment and capacity-building.
Together, these policies are steering India toward a future where it can become a producer and global exporter of advanced, sustainable mining technologies.
Inside the 2025 Edition
The IME + ISME 2025 exhibitions, spread across 1.1 lakh square metres, expected to be the most ambitious yet. The scale alone is staggering having “Partner Countries” as “Australia” & “Germany”, “Partner State” as “Gujarat”, and “Focus State” “as” “Assam” with total 700+ stalls, total footfalls of 34,000 industry trade visitors reaffirming event grandeur.
The list of exhibitors reads like a ‘who’s who’ of the global mining & metal ecosystem — with industrial giants like Lloyds Metals, Thriveni Earthmovers, L&T Construction & Mining Machinery, BEML, Caterpillar, Hindalco, Komatsu, XCMG, Tata Hitachi, BKT Tires, CEAT Tyres, Jindal Steel Ltd. & Jindal Power Ltd., ExxonMobil, and Tata Steel , to public sector leaders like Coal India, SAIL, DRDO, CSIR, NLC India, NMDC and NTPC. These brands will showcase state-of-the-art machinery, automation systems, safety innovations, and energy-efficient technologies that are redefining how the sector operates.
Beyond the exhibits, there will be a Buyer Seller Meet, Innovation Conference, and Rubber Conference which will encourage direct business interaction and cross-border partnerships. A Networking Dinner, designed to foster connections among key industry leaders, government officials, and investors, will further enrich the experience.
The Asian Mining Congress 2025
Running concurrently with the exhibitions, the Asian Mining Congress (AMC 2025) will convene at JW Marriott, Kolkata, on October 30–31, 2025, under the theme “Innovative & Responsible Mining for Inclusive Growth.”
The congress will feature over 100 speakers and 1,000 delegates representing 34 nations, including policymakers, engineers, researchers, and academicians. Discussions will centre on green mining practices, digital transformation, resource efficiency, and ESG-driven frameworks that balance profitability with environmental responsibility.
AMC’s agenda reflects a global pivot: mining is no longer just about extraction — it’s about stewardship, innovation, and creating value for communities as well as shareholders.
A Global Hub for Sustainable Collaboration
As mining faces mounting pressure to decarbonize, AMC+IME+ISME 2025 is emerging as a key forum for solutions. India’s growing emphasis on “green steel”, low-carbon manufacturing, and hydrogen-based technologies will be in sharp focus. Experts will also highlight how digitalization — from AI-driven exploration to automated safety systems — is helping the industry move toward higher transparency, productivity, and circularity.
Equally important is the event’s role as a bridge between Nations. Delegations from Europe, Australia, Russia, the Middle East and Africa are expected to attend, turning Kolkata into a melting pot of ideas and partnerships. With global players collaborating alongside India’s public and private sectors, the exhibition aims to chart a roadmap for a more resilient and resource-secure Asia.
The road ahead
For India, the timing couldn’t be better. The country’s mining & metal sectors already accounts for about 2% of GDP, and with policy tailwinds, it is poised for even greater global prominence. AMC+IME+ISME 2025 captures that momentum, offering a window into the innovation, infrastructure and intent driving India’s industrial future. With a blend of technology, sustainability and collaboration, these events are a statement about India’s role in shaping a smarter, greener industrial age.
