Acme Solar has its best-ever quarter as Q1 profit jumps 80% on strong renewable energy growth

Holdings reported a 79.9% year-on-year increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to ₹235 Cr for the June quarter (Q1 FY27), driven by higher irradiation, improved plant performance, and renewable energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity additions.

The company's total revenue rose 63.3% to ₹954 Cr during the quarter from ₹584 Cr a year earlier, while EBITDA increased 56.5% to ₹831 Cr from ₹531 Cr. EBITDA margin stood at 87.1%, compared with 90.9% in the corresponding quarter last year, as it included the cost of power purchased for BESS operations under operating expenses. PAT margin improved to 24.7% from 22.4% a year ago.

Acme Solar said the quarter marked its highest-ever revenue and EBITDA, while capacity utilisation factor (CUF) reached a record 30.9%. During the quarter, the company signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 600 MW of FDRE and hybrid projects with SECI, taking its under-construction PPA-signed capacity to 3,880 MW. It also commissioned around 2.3 GWh of BESS capacity, taking cumulative commissioned BESS capacity to about 3.62 GWh.

Revenue from the phased operationalisation of around 3.1 GWh of BESS capacity stood at ₹226 Cr during the quarter. The company also secured short-term contracts with revenue lock-in of over ₹1,400 Cr for the partial sale of FY27 BESS capacity and revised its guidance to commission cumulative BESS capacity of more than 10 GWh by FY27.
