Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty is down nearly 500 points this week. Despite the adverse conditions globally due to rising oil prices, the bulls have somehow still managed to defend the 23,800 level on the downside. Thursday's low of 23,807 is proof of that. That resolve will be put to test yet again on the final trading day of the week, as Brent crude closed above $101 a barrel last night.

Adding to that is the potential new tariff announcement from the Trump administration. Thursday was also the first time since June 11 that the Nifty did not make an intraday high above 24,000. That level becomes the key on the upside.

Analysts have warned that if 23,800 - 23,750 breaks decisively on the downside, it could drag the Nifty further down to 23,600 - 23,500 levels. The Nifty Bank closed below the 57,000 mark on Thursday, managing to defend the 56,500 level by just.

The banking index is set to post its worst week since March. Result reactions from Infosys and IndiGo will be key, followed by earnings from Shriram Finance, Tata Consumer, Bank of Baroda and others.
