The company has secured a contract from AESL Projects Limited for the design and construction of a 2,500 MW ±500 kV high voltage direct current VSC terminal station, comprising two units of 1,250 MW each. The project will facilitate the evacuation of renewable power from KPS 3 at Khavda to South Olpad.
AESL Projects Limited is a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. The order will be executed over multiple years.
Analysts estimate the total transmission project cost at around ₹16,000 crore to ₹18,000 crore.
The South Olpad HVDC project was widely expected to be awarded to Hitachi Energy. During its earnings call, Hitachi Energy had indicated that finalisation of the South Olpad contract was likely by the end of FY26.
GE Vernova T&D India shares closed 1.03% higher on Friday at ₹2,891. The stock has gained over 40% so far in 2025.
