Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian equities are likely to begin yet another truncated week on the backfoot after a strong upmove last week. Failure of the US-Iran talks in Islamabad over the weekend, followed by US President Donald Trump's threats on the Strait of Hormuz and the subsequent sell-off in US futures with a rise in crude oil prices are likely to weigh on Sentiments.

Both Brent and WTI are back above the mark of $100 a barrel this morning. Both Nifty and Nifty Bank had their best week's since February 2021 on hopes of a deal and an end to the war in West Asia.

Barring Monday, the Nifty has not made a low below 23,500 last week, making it a key level for the index. The Nifty Bank surged nearly 4,500 points last week, and the 55,000 level on the downside will be watched here too.

The banking index will also be in focus as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Yes Bank report their results this Saturday. With Tuesday being a holiday, today will be the Nifty weekly expiry. Keep an eye on oil sensitivities, Maruti, Jyoti CNC, and broader market names which rallied last week.
